Are we alone?

ufo sighting is not a new thing
quoting from http://byroneric.wordpress.com/tag/ancient-ufo/
A Puspaka is a flying car and the word Puspaka is synonymous with Vimana from the sacred Mahabharata and the Samarangana Sutradhara. There are hundreds of lines of sacred texts that describe such vehicles and Sanskrit texts are filled with references to gods who fought sky battles with weapons as deadly as any we can deploy today.
From the Ramayana:
“The Puspaka car that resembles the sun and belongs to my brother was brought by the powerful Ravana, that aerial and excellent car going everywhere at will ….”
” .. and the King (Rama) got in and the excellent car at the command of the Raghira, rose up into the higher atmosphere.”
There are four types of Puspaka (also known as Vimana, Vihamana, Vailixi and Vihmana) and they are Shakuna, Sundara, Rukma and Tripara. Of the four vehicles one is described as a rotating disk and another a cylindrical, cigar shape. There are also many descriptions of how Vimanas are built and propelled. From the Samarangana Sutradhara:

Linux
Linux has made great strides in becoming a standard part of the computing landscape, but it has made far more inroads into the Unix space than into the Windows desktop space. Despite that, there's simply no doubt that the desktop—and Microsoft—are the current target of many open source software projects. These projects are conceived, executed, and extended to compete with Microsoft's desktop applications.
They're making progress, too, particularly with early-adopters and in IT-mandated vertical application environments, but as these projects mature, they're going to have to compete head-on with their far better funded and user-tested Microsoft counterparts on average users' desktops. To compete successfully, Linux needs a standardized platform and robust installation mechanisms so that users can choose software on its merits, without worrying about whether the software they want works on their particular Linux flavor or GUI choice.
The idea of choice is part of the bedrock of open source. But open source also wants to replace Microsoft on the desktop, or at least make a serious dent in Microsoft's hegemony. To do that, the open source community must recognize that its primary goals: freedom of choice, freedom of source code, and freedom to alter applications, are not the goals of the average user.
Choice, to most users, is the ability to choose any program they wish, and have it install and run seamlessly, without affecting any other application already installed; without requiring them to know which GUI they're running (or even that they're running a GUI); without altering path statements; without editing configuration files; without facing a command prompt; and without having to compile any source code; create any makefiles, or any other programming task that only developers are fond of.
they don't care that they can't see or change the source code to their current programs. They don't care that they don't actually own the software, as long as they only have to pay for it once. They don't care that most of their software comes from a single source. In short, they don't care about the fundamental issues behind open source software at all. But they do care about price, quality, availability, security, simplicity, and interoperability. Supply these, and open source will be the software choice.
So far, the open source community has been highly sensitive to the needs of power users, hobbyists, and centralized IT departments, but highly insensitive to the needs of average, technically (and sometimes literally) illiterate users. Many people will argue that the public should be educated to value software choice and to see Microsoft's impositions and removal of choice for what it is. But it is a grave mistake to stake Linux' future on the hope that millions of people will be inspired to software activism, that they will take the ideological high road when all they want is to buy a piece of software that works with a piece of electronics.

lord ravan some 'facts'

He was a devotee of LORD SHIVA and was so powerful that even the 9 planets called Navagrahas were over powered by him and rendered in active. The story goes that he was in the kingdom of the Lord but was cursed to take birth in the world and get killed in the hands of the Lord to attain salvation.
His action in carrying away SITA , wife of Sri RAMA, which resulted finally in his getting killed in the hands of Sri Rama, who was an AVATAR of Lord Vishnu but had to remain as a human being sans his supernatural powers.
Ravana's great-grandfather was Brahma, a deity. His grandmother was a demon. Ravana's father was a sage and his mother was a rakshasa - a type of demion So, he had both bloodlines
Lanka originally belonged to Ravana's half-brother Kubera, the Lord of the Treasures of Swarga. Ravana and his rakshasa allies demand Lanka from him, and Ravana and Kuvera's father Visrawas advises Kubera to give it up as Ravana cannot be killed by any celestial being. Ravana is thus made king of Lanka.
Emperor of the Three Worlds
Using his invulnerability and strength, Ravana conquers and humiliates thousands of kings across India, building Lanka's empire and dominion over the rest of the world.
Ravana also conquers the Yakshas led by Yama and his half-brother Kubera. Ravana invades the netherworlds, conquering many daitya, danava and asura races and making an alliance with the powerful Nivatakavachas.
He then takes an army of millions of rakshasas to conquer Swarga. Even the devas, headed by Indra, Agni, Vayu and Surya are forced to submit to the power of Ravana's army.
Ravana was born Dasagriva (One with Ten Heads) the son of the sage Visrawasa by his wife Kaikasi, a rakshasa princess. Thus he is thought to have been either a brahmin or a mix of the brahmin and kshatriya castes. The name Ravana (One of Terrifying Roar) was given to him by Lord Shiva.
While it is impossible to corellate the names of places mentioned in the ancient legends of India with modern-day towns and villages, the entirely obscure village of 'Bisrakh' in northern India claims to be the birth-place of Dasagriva.
Despite possessing aggressive tendencies as a young man, Dasagriva becomes an exemplary scholar of the Vedas and religious knowledge under the coaching of his pious father.
Emperor of the World, and Evil
After winning his boons, Ravana is sought out by the leaders of the rakshasas, who desire him to lead their race to power.

Violations of Women
Ravana's sexual prowess is important to note as it plays a critical part in his legacy and downfall. Even as a young man he shamelessly violates women, and blessed with awesome strength, becomes an immensely virile rakshasa. He is a master of tantric vidya, or magical sexual arts.
Although Ravana is married to Mandodari, the daughter of Asura Maya, he captures thousands of women from his conquests and maintains a harem of unparalleled size.
Ravana also violates Rambha, the queen of the Apsaras. He is thereby cursed that if he ever forces himself on a woman again, his heads will burst. This curse protects the chastity of Sita when she is his captive.
There is also a discussed prophesy in the Ramayana that Ravana had violated Vedavati, a young ascetic who was performing tapasya to win Vishnu as her husband. Ravana's actions cause Vedavati to immolate herself, but she pledges to return in another age to be his destruction. The Rishi Agastya explains that Vedavati was born as Sita, and she is the wife of Vishnu's Avatara, Rama, and the cause of Ravana's death

hmm laptop brands really mean anything??
Virtually none of the namebrands manufacture their own laptops. The few notable exceptions are IBM, Acer, Toshiba, Twinhead and Apple. Yet, even Toshiba and Apple do not make all of their own.All of the rest buy their laptops from what is called an Original Design Manufacturer (ODM). Then, they install the hard drive (usually an IBM, Hitachi, or Toshiba), processor (Pentium x, Celeron, or AMD) and system memory (SDRAM). Installing these last three components is very easy to do, and leaving these for "the last minute" allows for a wide range of custom configurations.
Once these companies add in these three components, they have a complete laptop. They then put their label on it and market it.
Each ODM sells its computers to several different OEMs.
For example:
- An ODM named Clevo makes the Sager NP5670 and the Alienware Area 51-M, the Voodoo MClass M550, the Hypersonic Sonic Aviator, and they are all the same computer. Clevo also makes the Sager NP8882 and NP8887 and the Voodoo MClass M600 and they are also the same computer. Of course, the Sager models have a much sweeter price tag!
- An ODM named Compal (not to be confused with Compaq) makes some of the the DELL, Hewlett Packard and Compaq line of laptops--plus some others.
- Quanta makes many of the Dell Latitude, IBM, and Sony Vaio laptops.
- GVC makes the Micron Transport Treck and Treck 2.
- Inventec makes many of the Compaq brands.
- Clevo and Kapok make certain models of the Sager Computer. Clevo and Kapok are different divisions of the same company and are among the largest and best in the world.
- Other ODM names are Mitech, Kapok, Clevo, FIC, Twinhead, and Uniwil--just to name a few.
Some call this the "Dirty little secret of the Laptop Industry."
So, what does this mean to you? It means don't get hung up on the brand name when looking to buy, because the company who owns that name probably didn't build your dream-machine laptop. Instead, focus on these three things:
- The warranty: Compare warranties among different vendors.
- Features: Does it do all you need? Don't go overboard, but don't sacrifice.
- Price: Are you paying for a name, or for features and warranty? Remember, the name does not differentiate the machine from any other.

Taj Mahal the ultimate truth
Taj Mahal is not Queen Mumtaz's tomb but an ancient Hindu temple palace of Lord Shiva (then known as Tejo Mahalaya )
Its no secret for many historian that Shah jahan used to capture exceptionally beautiful mansions and temples as burial place for dead courtiers.
For example, Humayun,Akbar, Etmud-ud-Daula and Safdarjung are all buried in such mansions.
the enquiries began with the name of Taj Mahal. The term " Mahal " has never been used for a building in any Muslim countries from Afghanisthan to Algeria . "The unusual explanation that the term Taj Mahal derives from Mumtaz Mahal was illogical in atleast two respects.
Firstly, her name was never Mumtaz Mahal but Mumtaz-ul-Zamani,"
Secondly, one cannot omit the first three letters 'Mum' from a woman's
name to derive the remainder as the name for the building."Taj Mahal, is a corrupt version of Tejo Mahalaya, or Lord Shiva's Palace . the love story of Mumtaz and Shah Jahan is a fairy tale created by court sycophants, blundering historians and sloppy archaeologists Not a single royal chronicle of Shah Jahan's time corroborates the love story.
Prof. Oak points out a number of design and architectural inconsistencies that support the belief of the Taj Mahal being a typical Hindu temple rather than a mausoleum. Many rooms in the Taj ! Mahal have remained sealed since Shah Jahan's time and are still inaccessible to the public . Oak asserts they contain a headless statue of Lord Shiva and other objects commonly used for worship rituals in Hindu temples Fearing political backlash, Indira Gandhi's government t ried to have Prof. Oak's book withdrawn from the bookstores, and threatened the Indian publisher of the first edition dire consequences . There is only one way to discredit or validate Oak's research.
The current government should open the sealed rooms of the Taj Ma hal under
U.N. supervision, and let international experts investigate.

Final semester

The atmosphere at the UoM is gradually turning som som, seems more and more lifeless, this is actually the last sememster for a lot of us ... hopefully
The life at the uom was not comparable to any of the previous education life we have had in the past, though we have spend only 3 years in the uom compared to 6 years at primary and about 7 years at the secondary level, we have had a completely different kind of relation ship developed among friends...
its a bit hard to grasp the fact that all these days of fun and sharing is going to end up like this.
